Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to drop in to say Merry Christmas to all of you!  This is the first time in several days that I have had  "down" time!  All of the gifts are opened, the kids are happy, everyone enjoyed a ham dinner and I get to relax for the evening.  Yay!

Here are a few pictures of some of my ornaments around the house.  I decided to  post tonight because I am "that" person that takes down all of my decorations the day after Christmas and declare my life back to normal :)

This is the baby tree in my kitchen.  I decorated it with vintage Christmas cookie cutters held on with twine, a set of vintage measuring spoons and a super cute star Christmas ornament that looks like a cookie.

This is our Christmas tree with a couple of close ups on some of our ornaments.

Here is the mantel in the video game room where I hung my kids stockings.

A gingerbread house that the kids made a few years ago.

A Santa door knob hanger.

I made the wooden coat hanger that is behind my front door.  It holds my baptism dress from when I was a baby all year long and during Christmas time I add some greenery.

Some Christmas garland randomly hung around the house.

Christmas decorations on the front porch.

A snow shovel (I will never need to use this thing being I live in Southern California, I guess its a good thing....I wouldn't know how to use it anyways)  hanging out with my grandfathers canes.

And lastly....Meet Ellen.  My beautiful niece that is in high school always thinks of me while making things in her ceramics class.  Ellen was an amazing gift from her one year and I adore her.

Thanks for stopping by.....Enjoy the rest of your evening and have a Very Merry Christmas!

Estate Sale Finds

I know that I said that I would post my finds on Sunday, but I was so exhausted I couldn't even bare to turn on the computer.  The last few days have been crazy (but fun).  I attended my youngest daughters Halloween Choir Concert, had tons of fun at a local Oktoberfest, took my kids to a local haunted house, took the kids and the dogs (photo attached) trick or treating and most importantly we celebrated  my daughters 19th Birthday!!

Gus was a submarine, and Ginger was a  blowfish!

Back to business.....here are the photos of my estate sale finds:

I bought this wonderful picture frame.  It was gold and dirty and wouldn't match anything in my home, but I loved the detail.

So I cleaned it up and painted it.

I LOVE the detail!

I decided to hang it above my entertainment center (previously a radio cabinet) and hung a vintage sign that I already owned in the center.

I also found this really cool 1950's radio faux telephone.

I didn't do anything to it other then clean it up and hang it on the wall.

and a pretty wine glass that I forgot to take a picture of, all for $2.  Using some glass glue, here is what I did with the four pieces:

After adding a couple of small touches, I have it sitting on my dinning room table.

Last but not least:

My oldest daughter loves cats.  We found this wooden cat jewelry holder. But it needed to be brought back to life.

I added a fresh coat of black paint.

And here it is, sitting on my daughters dresser, purring with happiness!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

3-Tier Basket

Hello!  Just a quick post to show you one of my favorite finds from the Rose Bowl Flea Market!  I bought this a couple of months ago and its permanent home is in my backyard near my herb garden.  I made my wonderful husband carry it throughout most of the market (hehehe)!  Still not sure what I am going to put in it, but I'm sure it will come to me one day.

Tomorrow I will post all of my fantastic finds that I bought today at local estate sales.  I have already started sprucing up a couple of pieces!
